This most recent version of Supernova was recreated for INTRANZYT Cia in 2022 in Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal. The original version was created and premiered seven years ago in Germany for TanzLabor/BalletHagen.
I came across Amanda Gefter’s article, "The Strange Fate of a Person Falling into a Black Hole." It delves into the fascinating concept of what would happen if someone were to fall into a black hole in space.
After reading it, I felt inspired to explore this subject through an artistic and dance-driven lens. Themes like space, time, infinite time, reality, and gravity—warping space and curving it to the point where a black hole forms through the fabric of reality—captivated me. The idea of space becoming increasingly curved until it reaches an infinite curvature resonated deeply with me.
This sparked the desire to translate these scientific concepts into body language, collaborating with the dancers to immerse ourselves in this "scientific" yet "spaced-out" world.
